Today I have had several asthma attacks, I know it is directly related to how windy it is outside..it started last night when I went outside at work to chase after a patient who decided they were going to walk home.... Duh I should have let her go but I felt bad for her...
Anyway, Everytime I went outside today, I ended up having to do a neb treatment, well now I am inside, and the bark cough, bronchial spasms won't quit.. (hey one way to be certain I do my treatments)
I am on my third "continually neb" and I am at my max cardiac threshold. I am tachying away at 157....and Have been up to 178
I drank icey drinks, which did help settle it down before, but isn't now... I may have to run to work to get some lidocaine to neb.
Has anyone every tried nebbing Lidocaine before? We have given it a few times to some of our patients but it can calm the irritable airway some times...
I don't know what else to try... and since I work in an ER I already know I am pretty much doing for myself everything they would do for me there.. excpet 02..my sats are low for me at 88.... I know very low..
Anyone with some magic tricks?
