And if so, have you had any problems with it? If so, what kind and were you treated aggressively or not at all? Thanks, jleigh

Hey, I have cultured stenotrophomonas maltophilia for the last 8 years on and off. I was usually treated with Bactrum and Tetracycline. ~ Mary

Thanks Mary and Rose Marie,I know that Bactrim is the "usual" antibiotic susceptible to steno. Have either of you had any complications/decrease in lung function due to the steno? Thanks, jleigh

The main thing that makes this culture is if you have reflux, i have horrible uncontrolable reflux and have for about 10 years or more now. I don't get it treated when i am at home, probably because i am in the hospital more than i am at home anyways, but so long as your reflux is not under control then you won't beat it.
