back pain

Ok so the pain is less today. Would it still be a stone if the pain is less. My mom said that when she got them she was in so much pain she couldn't stand it. So if my pain is lessening can it still be a stone. I am drinking a ton of liquid and it is making me feel better. Would that make the stone smaller so it goes away with the pain.

Sorry I am asking so many questions

Could it be a pinched nerve? I had one in the middle of my back to the left of my spine. I couldn't even get a back rub because it hurt so bad. Eventually it went away on it's own.

yes, if the pain is less or even stop it can still be a stone. It just means that the kidneys are not in 'spasms' and the stone isnt on the move, or has made it to your bladder and is just sitting there waiting to pass. Pain can last anywhere from 30 mins to a few hours, even up to a few weeks. The pain does stop until the stone starts moving again. Drinking a lot does not make the stone smaller, it just helps flush out the kidneys and gives the stone an extra push to get out. I hope what you are experiencing is a pulled muscle, but it does sound like a kidney stone specially since you said you felt like you had to pee when you didnt have to. Hopefully your ordeal will be over soon. I know it is no fun. Continue to get feeling better <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
