Ha Emily you would think someone should be checking something....

Lynda, I totally know what you are trying to say.. and THANK YOU... I hope for sure that all the horrible experiences that I have had will teach me to be more compassionate and more on the ball..

and not to use abbreviations for things that can be misinterpeted.

That's insane!! My blood would have been boiling for sure.

I've experience some irresponsible things too when I'm in the hospital and really hate how at a time when you just want to sleep or put all your efforts into getting better, you still have to stay super aware of what they're giving you. This happens I'd say every time I'm in, on some level. Sometimes it's little things like - did you forget the Ultrase?, sometimes they're the wrong med, sometimes they don't know how to use the scale or the blood pressure wrap, or they think you have TB when you dont. So many things. It's unfortunately not the time for us to tune out!

At least, your doctor is aware of all these things so next time you're in - he best be on high alert for you! It's a good thing that he is not denying these things - he just has to work much harder for you next time. I'm sorry you went through all that horror!

Holy Crap!!!!! I'm glad you are "ok" since they were pushing all those meds you didn't need. Unbelievable....

I'm going to share this with Mark. Sometiems he gets all uptight that I question the doctors and ask a zillion questions. I do it #1 because I'm a VERY curious and nosey person and #2, I want to make sure what they are doing regarding his care is right and necessary. Good lord, I can't believe that happened. Crazy. Maybe you'll get a nice fat silencer check......... Merry christmas

Scary scary stuff... another reason I like home health! lol

Anyway, reminds me of recenlty when I was in and had them check and double check the meds I was on cause I told the doc I had been resistant to two of them for years, yet he had me on them. I guess he told me he was up ruminating on my comments all night (what an AWESOME doc, btw!), which was not my intent, but all turned out correct and drugs in combos working better than just one drug... blah blah... anyway, moral of the story is, I think we're all pretty proactive in our care... and I've always wondered what it would be like if I were "out of it" or too sick to know what they're doing to me/putting in my veins.... I guess this just goes to show it would be a total nightmare not to know and not to be able to do anything about it. I'm sooooo sorry you had to go through that, Jennifer!!!! I'm with Julie.... "silencer check"!!!!!

And, yeah.. its one thing to get the meds wrong, but quite another to get the diagnosis wrong! YIKESY!!!
