CF Services Pharmacy

We have had problems with them too. We used to get Danny's enzymes from them because we were enrolled in the Wee Care program. We moved to a new state and they sent his meds to the old address at least 3 times. When he turned one we needed more vitamins as he was on a higher dose and they never gave us the additional bottle unless I called and spoke with the guy that ran the program. Just about 2 weeks ago I called to see if they took our insurance and what our co-pay would be for enzymes. The woman I spoke with didn't know--said she would find out and call me back. Never got a call back and found somewhere else to get them. Then one day I open my front door and there is a box from them full of Creon 5. I called and told them that I never actually ordered them and I was not going to pay for them. She wanted me to return them and then realized that they would not be able to dispense them again so told me to keep them and she would not bill me. Fine by me as long as I don't get a bill. As of right now we get Vitamax from them--my understanding is thats the only place I can get it.

I have never had a problem with CFS pharmacy. I have gotten my meds through them for as long as I can remember and I dont think we have ever had a problem tho. I am still on my dads insurance though, so hopefully when I get a job and switch I wont have a prob. I like them because you can get the vitamins free. Are you guys saying that they have enzymnes at regular drugstores?

Caitlin.... How do you get your vitamins free from them? I've always had to pay (and they claim neither of my 2 insurance plans will cover them) UNLESS I get my colistyn through them and send the upc's to Source CF... Then, and only then, I can get a 1 month supply. But, since I'm only on colistyn every other month, I have to pay CF services for every other order. Please let me know how you get vitamins free from CF services. Thanks!

My experience is that things generally go smoothly but billing often takes a phone call to correct a mistake they've made. They don't come close to the level of service we get from the "good" pharmacist at our local pharmacy, but that good pharmacist is not always on duty and the rest are stunningly incompetent and frustrating to deal with.

We stick with CFServices for enzymes, Tobi, and Pulmozyme because we like the idea of helping the CF Foundation make a few bucks off our insurance to put towards research...paying the local pharmacy for these expensive meds just gives money to some corporation somewhere so they can give huge bonuses to their executives....

We do fine if we don't have to deal with a real person. I do like the ease of ordering online. The billing and rude customer service people is too stressful. I've spoken with people who use the CF services pharmacy out of Texas and they've raved about it. I think we deal with Maryland and stuff is shipped out of Denver.

Our local pharmacy has been great. Just from time to time they haven't been able to get ADEKs. I can call in an order in the morning and it'll be waiting for me at noon. We get albuterol & atrovent 3 months at a time, otherwise because most of his meds are still liquid, I can only get a months supply. And any meds that have a shorter shelf life -- antibiotics (Keflex, Zithromax, Cipro...), they'll give me a month supply in powder form, so I can mix my own and don't have to pay a copay every 7-10 days.

Hi,

Just wanted to clarify that the Texas, Denver and now the new Alabama locations' orders are all processed out of Maryland home office. Which oddly enough is located in the same building as the CF Foundation. They just have different representatives that handle calls.
