Hey Karen,

Did you take a little extra enzyme(s) before your meal?? This prob sounds gross but what usually helps me is sitting on the toilet

If it isnt cf related i usually drink some ginger ale with the bubbles stirred out..

I hate beleaches !!! Feel better joni

Joni....that is the problem with CF tummy aches, you don't know you needed the extra enzymes until it is too late, ughh! I did not realize how fatty that roast was....now I know. It was without question a CF tummy ache.....there is nothing quite like that feeling...it is unmistakable! I will just have to pay better attention to how many enzymes I need with a meal like that....won't make that mistake again.

I was going to suggest the same thing, take extra enzymes.

And, as you commented Skye, I found the best way to figure out whether you may need extras or not is by how you had been feeling for the past few days and how much added fats you may be ingesting for your meal. If I've had a rough week with stomach issues, I'd take extra enzymes, the regular amount before I eat and then some more (maybe half the amount) afterwards. Someone here once suggested that the enzymes can only handle so much at a time, so taking some during and after thier meal seemed to work for them.

I think I'll try the ginger idea for myself, too. The wife did say that the ginger helps keep you warm during the winter by increasing the body temp a bit, but am not sure how it relates to the stomach, other than possibly replacing it for a heating pad?!
