Mel,

I know if your enzymes are working well you probably don't want to change, but....if you are on creon you can get one case a month, plus a bottle of vitamins free. The only thing about that program is you can't be on public assistance (medicare, medicaid, or a state program) to be eligible.

Tom,

What kind of milk do you use in the mix? I thought that whole milk only has about 150 calories per cup.</end quote></div>

Thanks Teri! I forgot about that. I will inquire about this if I cant get my insurance to cover Ensure. I like the vanilla flavor of that, but I want Ensure Plus which is still not as many calories as Carnation VHC, but if its covered by insurance thats ok.

I just print off the black and white order form, complete and send with a pharmacy receipt for creon. The shakes usually come within 2 weeks.

Mel, since you live in NY you may be able to get some help through the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program (also called the Over 21 program I believe). I have no idea if they will help cover the cost of non-prescription "meds", but if your doctor is willing to send a letter stating the need for a supplement it might be worth a shot. The downside is you might find yourself forced to drink thos awful scandishakes. Not to offend anyone who likes those, but ugh...

I cant get help through them, but thanks. I need something already made. I use to get the schandishakes & tho they arent 'THAT" bad I wasted a lot of it. With what I use now I grab 1, 2 or 3 of them right out of the fridge & go.....

I was willing to try something different, but hubby knows me & would rather spend the $$ on something he KNOWS I will drink rather then something I MIGHT drink.
