Cost of shakes

I have been drinking Carnation VHC for a few years now. I found a company online that was very reasonable. Last month when I placed my order they called to tell me that the price had almost doubled, but they hadnt updated their website to show that yet.

She said I "might" be able to find it cheaper, but it will be difficult. So I went back to a company from years ago that was cheaper then the newly doubled price, but still not as cheap as the original price I was paying with the other company.

Today I go online to order & its 4 times the price so I start looking at other brands & everything is twice the price or more.

Has anyone else found this? I realize prices in general have increased, but why such a difference in the shakes?

I am freaking screwed if this is the case everywhere for any type ....SIGHS

Ugh, that sucks. I haven't experienced this with shakes b/c I get ensure through my insurance. Can you get any (boost, ensure plus, etc) through your insurance instead?

I hope you can find something to work b/c I know when you need those extra calories those drinks are super.

Also, we have found a quick backup when we are needing calories (and can ignore nutrion for a minute) as we are trying to limit use of his g-tube.

If you make a cup of chocolate milk using Hersey's syrup & 8oz of milk you get a quick drink that is 400 calories.

What kind of milk do you use in the mix? I thought that whole milk only has about 150 calories per cup.
