I swear every time I open my big mouth and talk about how well Courtney is doing something happens to her!
Courtney had her first cross country track meet today. When I saw her about half way thru the race I could tell she was struggling.
I try very hard not to be the over protective mom, so I didn't say anything and hoped she knows her own limitations.
Once the race was over I saw her coach taking her to the trainer and she was crying. I leaned over the railings and hollered to her to see if she was okay. She just nodded and said yes.
She was with the trainer for about 15 minutes when I could no longer take it. I walked over there even though I was not suppose to. Thank goodness the trainer was very nice about it.
He would not let her get up because her heart rate was way to high. She was shaking and feeling like she was going to throw up. She felt VERY out of breath even though she used her inhaler before and during the race.
It took about 40 minutes before her heart rate was normal and she was feeling better.
I brought her home, fed her and she is feeling much better. She went right to sleep though.
She really scared me. She is such a strong young woman. She says she will be at practice at 6:20 am sharp tomorrow morning. Nothing stops her!
When I feel down about stuff that is happening in my life, all I have to do is look at my beautiful, strong, daughter and know I can get through anything!!!
