D.C. or Baltimore area?

Hello again...

Just curious if anyone has info. or anything (good or bad) to share regarding centers in the DC or Baltimore area?? We're likely to get stationed there in the next year or two and I'd like to know what the centers are like and which you prefer?

Also, what is the climate/air quality like in the Baltimore area? Not sure if we'd live directly in the city, but I'm sure we'd visit often. I expect DC air quality is terrible.

Finally, are there any non-smoking laws in public places in that area (i.e. bars, clubs, etc.)?

Thanks!!

I can't tell you about the air quality or the smoking laws. I can tell you that Johns Hopkins Adult CF Center is in Baltimore and it was excellent. I really loved the dr. I had and the entire staff. (We lived in PA, but since moved to GA)

Air quality is about what you'd expect from a metro area with way too many people driving cars to work. There is also alot of pollen.

Maryland and DC prohibit smoking in restaurants & public buildings & maybe also in bars, but I'm not sure if that law passed or not.

Hopkins in Baltimore gets good reviews. My son is just a tot and goes to DC Children's hospital where we feel like he's getting good care. Children's also sees adult patients.

Baltimore is considerably less expensive for housing than DC and DC suburbs.

I go to NIH in Bethesda, and I like it there. The area has a ban on smoking in public buildings and restaurants; althou like folione I'm not sure about bars.

I had the option to go to hopkins but chose NIH, as I'm comfortable with them...but from what I hear Hopkins is a great place. There is also a Naval hospital in Bethesda, but I haven't heard much about it. (Although the one person I've heard from seems to like it!)
