Jennifer, are you on ceftaz or cephaprim, by chance? This used to happen to me literally EVERY time I went in for tune up. Like you, docs told me that it was just my body reacting to the bacteria being killed off, etc. It always went away after about 2-3 days. Then after several years of this, I started getting really bad headaches, itching and swelling. They did a test and found out I was super allergic to cephalosporins, which apparently cause nausea and other flu-like symptoms when you have a reaction. I discontinued those drugs and have never had the issue again.
I would definitely talk to your doctor about maybe trying a new drug, especially if there's a pattern between these symptoms and which abx you are infusing. And it can also be helpful to switch abx every so often anyway...lots of CFers I know have had great results with added variation to their tune-up routine.
Good luck and feel better.
