Eating Patterns

I know many of us feel like we eat all day long, but I was wondering do you try and eat every 2 hours, every 3 hours, or when?

I have bouts of hypoglycemia if I don't eat about every 3 hours. Those bouts make me feel like crap until I eat something. Once I eat, I get the chills until my blood sugar goes back up to normal. The whole experience is draining quite frankly. I am borderline diabetic and have been advised to watch what I eat and drink. However, I have many more lows than highs.

On a side note, it was questionable 1.5 years ago if I had PCOS which has insulin related issues. Have any of you ladies had similar problems?

Edited to Add: My lows during my period are around 60!!!

Hi Fondreflections,

I also have early symptoms of CFRD and have been having hypos. I'm not on insulin and my Drs haven't been able to shine any light on the issue. I have just been treating it as a normal hypo and dosing up on sugar when I go low. It has been so low a couple of times I have almost collapsed!

I have a theory that the insulin is getting blocked in the pancreas and then coming out in a big rush causing a hypo. This is just my theory though, not based on anything but an educated guess...

Interested to hear about your PCOS. I am going for an untrasound this week re: infertility, I hadn't connected the two issues, just assumed it was CF causing all my problems like usual.

That doesn't really help much, sorry!

I do end up eating about every three hours or so during the week while I'm working. When I'm lying around on the weekends, I tend to eat less often. I have had a good handful of "clammy, shaky" moments until I get something in my system and yet my fasting glucose tests always come back normal. I'm curious, what are the "early symptoms" of CFRD?
