Exercise

So I went swimming today for the first time since last year (it's spring here). I did 10 laps and it took me an hour.

After the first lap I was coughing a fit and an old lady came up to see if I was OK, I said I had asthma, but would be OK. A few laps later the life guard came up and asked if I was OK - did I need a puffer??

Then another lap later, another lifeguard came up and asked me if I was OK, and said he would keep an eye on me in case he needed to pull me out (!). I think he was worried I was about to cough out a lung or something lol Nice that he cared, and for the record he was pretty OK - wouldn't have minded getting pulled out by him (don't tell my DH though...)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has had embarrasing exercise experiences? Surely I am not the only one who gets the "are you OK??" thing happening!

AJ

PS - I will persist with the swimming! If it's that hard it must be good for me!

Swimming is SO good for you! I swam a mile everyday last year, but then I quit working at the gym where the pool was so I could not longer get a free membership. I think I am going to start back up again, but I've been saying that for months. Forgot how good it was for CFers!

The worst thing I experience is HEAVY coughing immediately after stopping a run. I also cough and sneeze at the same time after stopping a workout and thats embarrassing. And then I cough so hard I slightly pee my pants. Thats really embarrassing but I just laugh it off.

I really wish I had a swimming pool just for fitness sake. Such a great way to stay in shape!
The most embarrassing thing I can think of is that when I used to be a dancer, I would be in class doing exorcises and barre work, and I would suddenly cough really hard and a huge wad of phlegm would fly out onto the mirror for everybody to see... SO embarrassing :p

swimming is the best- I used to swim all the time and was so healthy because of it- I need to get back into it, but it is so hard sometimes
also i wasn't even exercising the other day just out with a friend shopping and i was coughing and the store manager came up to me from behind the counter to see if i was alright- i just laughed it off and said yah and she was like ok just wanted to make sure because it doesn't sound so good- i wanted to be like like thanks lady i know
