Fevers of an unknown origin....

Hi,

Just looking for some input... I already went to the doctor yesterday and I am getting the "million dollar" workup again... including getting sent back into the city to see a neurologist.. because I am getting the same symptoms I got a while ago.. My hands are real clumbsy, I am forgetful, blood pressure is low, instead of high, blood sugar if low as well..Dizzy, exhauausted etc.....

Anyway, my question is... I have a fever, and have had it for a few weeks but it doesn't seem to have a focal point, or a point of orgin if you will.. I did have a bladder infection, and sinus infection in the past few weeks but they both to have seemed to clear up. My cough in not any more out of the ordinary..

Like I said I am going to ( when I have time) get blood work and blood cultures and go to the city but I was just wondering if anyone else has had that happen.. a fever but no known reason for it..???

Hope you guys are well... I am barely on lately, I am working so much.. and I am about to get ready for work now.. BUt I am off tomorrow.. hope we can catch up.

Thanks for the help as usual...

Sometimes you can feel fine with the lungs but still have an infection brewing. Might take a few days for you to become sympamatic.

Take care.

Hi, Im new, havent formally introduced myself on here yet, but I will get around to it.
Anyways, I have been getting unknown fevers for quite a while, it seems like the past yr and a half at least. Ive gone to my Cf doctor and my primary care, everyone it seems. I even went to see an infectious diseases doctor for a while, no one could figure out where they were coming from, eventually i would stop getting em, but I would have em for about a week or so.

Jenn I had low grade temps for about 10 days with bad headaches. Nothing showed when I went for my checkup in the middle of it all. Chest sounded good, xray good etc. I felt fine except the headaches with the fever. It finally went away on its own. We "assumed" it was a virus of sorts. I was a tad concerned since the last time I ran fevers of any sort I ended up sick. Hope its nothing more than an annoyance for you!

During certain times in my cycle I will get low grade fevers.

I typically run a temp of about 97.8 or so - when I hit that week during my cycle I tend to run around 99.5ish give or take a few (99.2-99.7).

Other than that I used to get fevers all the time when I had ear infections - I actually ONLY got fevers when I had ear infections when I was little. I would be sick as ever with no fever the docs never understood it.

Now I have to be pretty darn sick to run a fever and when I do it is usually over 100 - if it is a sick/infection fever.

Hope you find out the problem Jenn.

Hi Jenn! I am sorry you are going through yet another problem....You definitely need a break that's for sure! How high do your temps go? Do they have a pattern to them....low in the am, high in the pm? I typically run about 99 all of the time, docs say it is from chronic inflamation, they get worried when I hit 100 and run it consistantly- usually the sweats get more intense at this point too. The only time it goes down to normal is after an intensive course of antibiotics for a very active infection. Wierd when they take my temp and it is down to 98 for the first time in months! I am glad you are going to the city for further workup- blood cultures, more than likely you had to give bodily fluids from wherever they could think of. I hope it isn't all in vain for you and they come up with answers. What is puzzling is that you are dizzy and have low blood pressures...you have Addison's right? Maybe they aren't repleting your adrenal hormones enough (you have been through ALOT of stress physicallly, mentally lately and now you are working full swing too, I wonder if you picked up some virus- nursing is notorious for all of those funky cooties) Anyhow, I pray pray pray that they figure you out and that you get relief soon! Hugs and love to you...the other Jenn <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
