FYI Hypertonic saline

I called CF Sevices Pharmacy this am. Hypersal is available there(which is 7% hypertonic saline premixed). I had our CF nurse call in a 3 month supply of Hypersal today and they said it should be shipped out in a couple days. Our co-pay is more than the Hypertonic we mix ourselves, in fact it's more than our co-pay for pulmozyme ARG! What are ya gonna do? Just thought I'ld pass on that info. WHat I had been doing to conserve the 10% saline is use it more than once. I have leftover, sterile "red caps" from Maggie"s IV's from a long time ago which fit perfect on the 10% saline top to keep it sterile for the day. just thought I'ld pass on that info. HTH

Thanks for that! I will be getting my clinic on it if the 10% doesn't come in soon <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> . Those caps are a good idea! I was just putting mine in a sandwich ziploc and sticking them in the 'fridge.

For some odd reason it seems to clear me out better than when I mixed it myself, though doesn't seem nearly as salty. Is this possible? Maybe I was accidentally making mine too salty and it was restricting instead of opening?

Anyway, wanted to bump that this is available at CFS and it ROCKS! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
