Gastric Emptying Scan, Etc

My 2 year old CFer who just had tubes put in her ears today (she's recovering well, by the way) is sched for a Gastric Emptying Scan next Friday. Anyone been through this? Looks like its a long procedure and I'm looking for tips to keep her entertained or at least still during the test. Also, her liver enzyme and bilirubin levels came back on the high side so we're getting follow up blood work done. We're quickly approaching the 1 year anniversary of her initial dianosis when she was 16 mos old so I'm still pretty new to all of this. Any experiences with this stuff would be helpful.
Thanks.

I don't know anything about the gastric emptying study, though they did mentioned doing one on DS when he was a baby. I would think they'd use some sort of sedation...

Is your daughter on Actigal or Urisidol (bile salts)? When DS was in the NICU on TPN (IV feedings) as a newborn, he was put on this med 'cuz of concerns with his liver/bilirubin levels.

She's not on either of those meds. Her levels were ok last year, so with the follow up blood work I guess we'll see if they are still high and proceed from there. She was slightly jaundiced at birth, but we didn't know she had cf then, so I don't think they tested her liver enzymes at the time.
Is your son still on those meds?

Yes, he's still on them. CFers can also have issues with gallstones, so there's apparently some thought that the actigall can also keep the gallbladder happy <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
