getting drunk

When I was your age & in college, I got drunk weekly and thought it was a blast. Now I'm more of an old fart and prefer a good buzz BUT, I don't have CFRD - I would think it's worth talking to your doctor about.

I used to go out every week and come back worse for wear. I just found the next day tough controlling my sugars as they would be low all day, and i was tired for a couple of days after, but at least i'd gad a good time. Now it hits me harder so i don't go out as much (old age LOL!!)
Go out and enjoy yourself thats what being young's all about just take care too x

from what i understand.....the most difficult thing about drinking for CFers is that it really dehydrates you. One doctor in my lifetime stated it was worse than smoking for a CFer.....i am sure that can be argued. I did it with CF and CFRD in my younger day and found that I had more problems with lows than highs....so be careful that you at least are sober enough to know where you are at with it. So my advice......get a buzz with a couple but don't over do it....it is more difficult for us to metabolize the alcohol so you will get drunk much easier....no one likes a sloppy drunk any way. Drink plenty of water before and after....and know what your BS is all the time. Then once you've done it.....find something better to do It is seriously over-rated
