Has anyone had a Sedirate ( sedimentation rate) blood test done? It is to measure inflammation in the body. My DR. recently did one because i want to get to the root of why i have so many unexplained low grade fevers. My nurse called to tell my numbers were a bit elevated. A normal person with no disease would have #'s in the teens to 20. Mine was 100. My nurse went on to tell me i could have elevated numbers because of the fungus ball, the cepacia or it may just be normal for me to have elevated #'s just with having cf. They have never done this type of blood test before on me so we have nothing to compare it to. He said it may be possible somethihng else is going on and maybe i should see a Reumatologist. I was like WHAT?????? Do you think i have Reumatoid Arthritis? He asked if i have joint and muscle aches and i said yes but mainly only when on Cipro which i hear is common. Of coarse now i am scared. I will see them on Wed. and he said we will talk about it then if i should go to a Reumatologist.
Has anyone had this blood test done before? Do you remember what # you had? I am hoping someone had it done and had less than perfect #'s with it and had no other odd problems connected to it other than cf.
For the record, the above question is from Diane. For whatever reason, she keeps getting error messages when she tries to post this question.
