have a cold, coughing all night

I have to prop myself up, laying flat makes me cough so bad. Sometimes I'll sleep in the recliner.
And I just read that honey helps coat the throat, you might want to try that. Or use a cough medicine, sometimes I'll sleep w/a halls cough drop in my mouth (not really safe when coughing).

Welshwitch, a hot bath sounds nice! At least if I'm going to be awake I can enjoy myself. Wonder if lighting candles will make me cough more...<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> I don't use Pulmozyme but I can leave my neb stuff and Flutter in the living room to do a quick treatment in the middle of the night without waking anyone. Heh heh I used to do the sleeping with a cough drop thing when I used to get strep throat before I was dx. I'll have to buy some honey, I recently bought a ton of tea. Yum. I don't have a recliner, I'll have to discuss that with DH. I think the cough is happening because of mucus from postnasal drip getting into my lungs and somehow lying flat makes it worse. Not sure why that is. Thanks.

When I have those nights of non stop coughing I use Nyquil...it seems to help alot with the coughing and it soothes my throat...besides tasting good too :p
