Have you switched to a new type of litter?
<br />Is the litter you use a paper or wood type litter?

nope i haven't switched litter. i use the red can of tidy cats. not the clay, cause the clay doesn't clump the cat pee. it's just werid cause they weren't there in the other bedroom, but since i moved it to the bathroom they appeared. it's quite annoying lol.

Yep- Toxoplasma gondii is the organism that was mentioned. As kito mentioned, it is a parasitic organism. It is an organism that must be ingested to be passed to a new host, but does not affect the respiratory system. Lots of cats, dogs and even people carry it asymptomatically, but can pass through the placenta if infected during pregnancy and cause horrible birth defects (We saw pictures in my veterinary parasitology class).

Good reason to wash your hands after kitty litter.

As for the bugs, I would guess maybe they are flour moths or something similar? They could probably thrive in there, and they are darn hard to get rid of. Luckily they are harmless.

As for CFers it is definitely a good idea NOT to breath in cat litter. While most of the bacteria is gastro-intestinal, the litter itself is FULL of chemical dust. Not stuff you want stuck in there!

Wow, that was like an essay <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

hey there!!

I actually have just noticed these little bugs too! They're almost like a fruit fly or something, right? I have no idea how to get rid of them. I've tried cleaning the litter box everyday to get rid of them and it's only lessened them, not gotten rid of them. The only thing I can think to do is get Raid or something, but I'm afraid to spray it around something the kitty uses so often.

darn bugs!!
