You should speak to your doctors or get another opinion from another CF doc. That seems like too much of a loss in two years. They should have been monitoring you more closely.</end quote></div>

agreed 100%

this should be unacceptable to you. what have they been doing these past 2 years to prevent the decline?</end quote></div>
they put me on hypetonic saline and arizoymycin 3 months ago but i admit cos i have been stressed out about exams i skipped treatments hence i think the decline

okay just had my clinic appointement yesterday and found my lung function has dropped again its now down to fev 1 62 a drop of around 20 % in 2 years it was fev1 84 this time 2 years ago .But the thing is is i dont feel that different compared to when my pfts were high.I can still walk about without little problems and the only thing is i notice i become a lot more breathless when i play sport thing i want to know is have others who have had big drops in their pfts felt much difference in there daily activities ie walking etc</end quote></div>

Can you just clarify IF you had been to the clinic, doing pfts, doing treatments, doing follow up between the time of the fev1 being 84 & the current fev1 of 62?

I would hate to criticize the doctor if you hadnt been doing your part.</end quote></div>yes i was doing treatments up until about 3 months ago i was quite regular but because of exams i put more emphasis on studying and less on my treatments
it just shows me what i always considered the extent of how severe cf can be up until recently i have been 100% religious hence the fev 1 84 yet any slight let up in treatment and my fev1 goes down quick isnt cf a pain in the ass to live with

I recently had a "visit reality" talk with my doctor. He said he understood and respected my decisions (excuses) to hold off a bit when I really needed to come in for a tune-up, or why I am too busy to be 100% compliant, etc. But as he put it, the talk we were having about where my fev1 is and were it can't be again is a choice I made alone. I was stung by his words, I knew they were true. I've been busy digging my own grave, by not being compliant, sucks to realize what I have done to my children (2) and husband and to myself. My fev1 is now low 40 into the 30s and I know I can't do much. He also concluded he wished we were having this talk 3, maybe 5 years down the road, but I made the choice. I pray you make a better choice than I do.
Goodluck!
