i cough many times a day. sometimes it's a dry cough from post nasal drip and other times it's productive.

My FEV1 is 98% so I'm not convinced there's a correlation between FEV1 and cough frequency. I do do all I can to keep my airways open aka do the Vest religiously, pulmozyme twice a day, HTS twice a day, and exercise (cardio). So I know I keep things moving.

I cough quite a bit. Sometimes I can go a long time without coughing and other times I'm coughing every few minutes. I wonder if anyone gets annoyed by it here at work. Sometimes I get annoyed at my own coughing at home, when I'm trying to sleep or just lay there and watch tv. Sometimes I get sooo sick of coughing it makes me fighting mad.

I cough several times an hour when I'm doing well. Non stop when I have a flareup. Like point above, people know when I'm around by my cough. (How embarassing!) I've been a cougher all my life. Back when I was a teen (before I was DX) I used to get coughing attacks at school and was always sent home by the nurse. Everyone thought I was like a leper or something. It really sucked and I couldn't even tell them it was genetic not to worry. If I get really nervous I need to puff on my inhaler so my lungs don't seize up and send me into a coughing spasm. That's the worst especially if it happens in the middle of a presentation or something. ~Juliet
