That's just really hard to believe. There are only 2-3 wholesalers in all of the United States.... so the chances of Walgreens not being able to get Sodium Chloride 10% (I'm sure that's how you're describing it to them, not HTS) are very low.</end quote></div>
Yes, Amy... I"m describing it as Sodium Chloride 10%. They are pulling it up on their computer with the NDC and everything and know what I"m talking about, so that's not the problem. They said they use "DEY" (same as CFS, actually) as the manufacturer of 10% and when the supplier tries to order through DEY he gets nothing.... I'm assuming its cause DEY is "on backorder" according to CFS. I asked if they could get it through any other manufacturer and they said no. They told me to call around town and see if anyone else used someone different.
I've just called CVS and they said they'd order it for me. I asked specifically if they use DEY and they said no, so I will keep my fingers crossed.
If all of us are having a similar problem, it is obviously an issue with getting this stuff through the local pharmacies. I think we're all explaining it the right way... I've NEVER called it hypertonic saline, and actually when I fill the Rx it calls for JUST 10% (I have a ton of the .9% at home already). So, if the pharmacist can't understand an Rx for 10% sodium chloride, there is a problem. lol
Amy, if I may ask, where do you get your 10% ?
