Hypertonic saline- waiting list?

Foundation Cares phone number is: 1-877-291-1122

We used to order the 7% from them and had no problems. Now we are mixing our own because it is a little less expensive that way.

Also about the 10% saline from the pharmacies. I know that it comes in 2 different count boxes, that might account for the price difference...one had 50 vials, and the other has 100 vials. So maybe check on the size of box they will be ordering.

I emailed them, and I haven't heard back from them yet. How did you contact them?

</end quote>

If you were inquiring about foundation care, their website has an order form that you print out and take to your doctor. You fill out the information that you can, then have the doc fill in the perscription and he/she/it/they can fax it to foundation care.

I believe it to be $37 for a month's supply.

Thank you both! I told them both I needed 60 vials, so ??? I guess I will find out tomorrow!

Do you mind if I ask how the prices compared with mixing your own and ordering the premixed? What I ordered from the CFServices Pharmacy, it was around $90, and my insurance paid about $25. If you don't mind telling me and you would rather pm me, that would be great, too .

Just so everyone knows... HS is STILL (gulp) on "backorder" and expected "maybe" sometime next week according to CFS today (I called to refill)... I cannot believe that CFS who supplies meds to CF patients ONLY cannot get something like this, but I went to my local Walgreens and they are special ordering me 10% and .9% to be picked up tomorrow. Ridiculous. Another reason I won't use CFS anymore. Over a week with no HS and none on its way... Urgh.

My Walgreens was a no go! If one can get it, I would think all of them could. I'll have to try them again... Oh, btw, I got mine from an independant pharmacy, and they had it for $48 (10%) and $20 for the .9% . And my clinic nurse said I could save the 7% (I save mine in a syringe in the 'fridge) for the next dose, and I've been saving my extra 10% in a syringe in the 'fridge too (forgot to ask about that one, but I didn't see why not), so now I am getting 3 doses out of one 15ml vial, instead of just one .
