I wonder if anyone else gets this....

I have been getting this most annoying pain in my throat for the past year or more. If i talk too much or too loud , or when i sing, i get this muscle pain in my throat. Its not a sore throat kind of pain or an allergic reaction, it just feels like my throat tenses up. Sometimes i get it while doing the vest and the flutter. I will just sit back and try to relax my throat muscles and wait till it subsides, but what the heck is that all about? I will assume it is from the years we cf'ers do of coughing, because i can not think of another possible reason for this annoyance. I am wondering if this happens to anyone else and if you have a remedy for it....

This has been happening to me too. It's almost like when you have a lump in your throat when you're trying not to cry or something. It feels like the muscle back there is knotted up. Everytime I swallow it hurts. It has caused the entire right side of my head to hurt.

I think I have irritated mine by singing. When I'm really stressed, I will go for a drive with very loud music to just clear my mind. I've done that a lot recently, and I think that's what caused the "lump". My hubby is a singer, and he said he thinks that is what I have done to it. He has experienced it before.

I find that if I drink warm beverages, it eases a little. Cold things seem to irritate it or tighten it up. I agree with you that it is a huge irritation! I'm starting to get a bit of a cough, and that really irritates it. I'm interested to see if others experience this and what they do to ease it.

Hey you singers. I wonder if it is pollups. That is easy enough to treat. Rest the voice from singing for awhile.

Pollups are real common with singers, why wouldn't they be common with coughers.

Hey i wonder if it could be bronchial tubes. i know they are not in your throat, but sometimes i will have like a spasm feeling in my throat and lots of pressure. i have often wondered if it were upper bronchial tubes spasming and it put pressure on my throat . i am not a singer, trust me haha.. :0) but i get a throbbing pressure in my throat after couging hard or even walking in peircing cold wind. Sometime is is at random too, but usually after straining my lungs.. Not sure if this helps or not?! Hope it gets better.
