Hi...although 12 hours between doses is most ideal, there is a bit of a window...at least that is what I was taught. Makes sense. I will use an example out of hospital policy. I used to be a nurse, in our proceedure manual, it was okay to have a plus or minus window of 30 minutes to give IV meds. Why? When you have 8 patients all on different schedules, some the same it is nearly impossible for you to be in two places at the same time to give these meds. Pharmacist was okay with that and so was I as long as I got those meds to those patients within that window.
In the home setting, things may come up for you to be an hour late for your TOBI, I admit...it has happened to me, but at least I take it. I would say don't bother taking it if your are going to be grossly non compliant with your TOBI, such as not taking it one day and then deciding to take it a few days and then not....then I say don't bother.
