There is anti-nauseau drugs you can have your dr. prescribe to you. They come in pill form and a shot. Ask and it could help. As far as feeling tired and ALWAYS do and I just deal and relax and sleep! See if you can go out on short term disability from your work.

Feel better!

Hey there

A few ideas for you -

First off I agree with everyone else in taking it easy and trying to not work. That may help not only with the fatigue but with the nausea too. I know I usually got physically fatigued at the end of my IV treatment - after 2-3 weeks - because the meds can be rough on your body. I did not really get fatigued DUE TO MEDS in the beginning of treatment though.

As for nausea it always depended on the meds I was taking. I had several instances where I would catch a virus while on IVs and that caused nausea and vomitting too. Otherwise I would maybe try to eat smaller meals - or maybe make sure that you are NOT eating foods that interact with your meds. Some meds are NOT supposed to be taken with dairy products, others with certain types of supplements - like magnesium or others - and yet some are not recommended to take with juices. It could be something that simple that is causing the nausea - especially if you are taking a new med and are unaware of the dos and don'ts of taking that certain med.

Also maybe try drinking more water. The water will help flush your system and maybe dilute to potency of the meds in your system. That may help you feel a little better too. For me when I get nauseous I tend to stick with dry foods like bread and crackers or even cereal - like rice krispies and rice chex and such. Kix and Cheerios work well too. I would just try playing around with the foods you eat. Also are you sure it is NOT an acid reflux thing. I always got/get really bad reflux when I take IV antibiotics or any antibiotic for that matter. I am normally okay when I am off abx, but when I start taking them oh boy does my stomach get the better of me.

I would run this problem by your doc they may be able to help you out and help pinpoint what is actually causing the nausea. Ya never know there may be other symptoms that you have that are associated with the nausea but you have no clue they are even symptoms of anything at this point in time (I hope that made sense).

Also to add - when I was on IVs in April I had really bad nausea with a med I was on - Tetracycline - and my doc ended up giving me phenergan to take as needed because NOTHING was helping. Ultimately the med was too strong for me and even WITH the phenergan I ended up vomitting so I was taken off the med, but still it is something you could ask about especially if the nausea is preventing you from eating and such. You need nourishment to help you get better.

Take Care and I hope you find something to help with the problem.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Awhile back I was taking merapenam (sp?) and was nauseated with it they gave me oral Reglan to help with the side affects. It helped quite a bit. Do you think that maybe that would help?
