I came across this article while looking up on avian flu, it is very long, and to be honest have not read it all yet, but I will.

The bit on mustard seems very apt to CF, also garlic. And also peppers

hey dyza,

This is ood, I click the link, and get an error!

Can't tell what the article is about, but I LOVE Kimuchi! Also, Kimuchi Ramen is another favorite. Along with Stamina Ramen! Gosh, I'm getting hungry just writing this!!

I've been told (mostly from the wife) that the garlic is an excellent stamina builder, but not as effective as mixing it with leeks and pork. Something about the chemical reaction that really was proven on a tv program in Japan that it increases the energy.

Also, spicy foods like Kimuchi, Chili, or even Curry (for Curry and Rice), gives a good cleansing to the sinuses, and helps prevent colds. (not sure about flu, but I think that's what garlic would actually help with, or at least that's what I recall hearing somewhere.)

Supposedly, the Kimuchi in Japan is different from Korea, but I found the Cabbage used in Japan tastes better than the Cabbage imported from Korea. (BTW, Japan has a "Korea Boom" right now...and I don't mean "BOOM!", as in what North Korea is contemplating with their missile tests! hehe)

The anonymous post was even worse!!
I clicked the link, and my browser shut down!

Anyone else having difficulty with this, or just me?? (I'd like to see what it's about!)

I'll try a search of my own to see if I find the same article.

I think it might be your computer. The first link did not work for me, but the 2nd one did.

Also, if you use the first link then remove the <br%20/> from the end and retry, it should work.

my link dosent work but the second anon link works.

Fred try putting in avianflu and kimchi, you should find it that way.
Other than that your description of what you get in Japan, seems to be pretty much the same stuff, well it has the same qualities anyway, especially the red chillies they seem to be the best for cold/flu defense.

Pickling food is tasty but bad for CFers, such that vinegar is usually the pickling agent. With all the antibiotics we consume candida, yeast infections, and fungi alike thrive in our systems, and vinegar is fuel to their little tummies.

You don't want to eat pickled foods or similar items when you are on antibiotics or have just completed a regimen of meds.
