What about a real vacation? Get away for 4 -7 days and enjoy getting away from everything.
We usually go on vacation (anywhere from Jan. to Mar.) and we didn't this year....it's soooo depressing.
Being on a beach (3 or 4 days and I'm good) does it for me. Makes me forget about life for a while which is what I need. It makes a huge difference in my life.
It's can be a little costly but it's sooo worth it in the long run. We have found deals that are all inclusive, so food, drinks, hotel, air fare, etc. are all paid for. Not bad.
Good luck and I hope '08 shapes up to have much better health in store for you!!

Wow you have had alot going on, you do deserve a break. I felt this way shortly after my diagnosis though not as sever problems it was one after another for months. For me talking to a counselor really helped, I also started on some anxiety and sleep medication short term which helped tremendously (which I have since stopped taking and use excercise for). I would say first and foremost just take it easy on yourself and try to rid yourself of as much stress/decision making in other parts of your life as you can. If you can get away for just a day it might be nice, even just a long drive to a new town, walk around whatever.

i think a very helpful thing is to keep a positive attitude (like many on here have said before) and think "glass half full."

when i'm feeling down about CF i usually look up successful people w/ CF that are doing great things despite their condition. i think of lisa bentley the iron woman triathelete. i think of hal soloff, who is about to turn 77 who has CF. i think of the people my age and younger who are moving forward with thier lives, getting graduate degrees, getting married, and having kids.

my point is it's very easy to think "glass half empty" when reading and talking about CF. i think this website is also very scary at times to read about the horrible things people are going through.

take a break from the internet, think glass half full and enjoy your healthy body! i think mental health has a lot to do w. physical health.
