I wanted to comment on your vent. Many of the men who deliver for
our company are just as gross, BUT I have never had an issue with
the supplies. As long as the guys don't come into contact with my
kids or their supplies, I'm ok with it. Here's a similar story.
Every summer we rent a house from a woman who is now on oxygen. She
was due to come down when we left and so she had her oxygen
supplies sent while we were there. The company sent the tanks,
condenser, hoses etc in a FILTY van that looked like they had
carried mulch first. There was so much dirt and dust on the stuff I
almost told them to take them back (but it wasn't my order- so I
kept my mouth shut). We did call our friend to tell her. What are
these companies thinking?</end quote>

That's awful, Jane!! I would not have been happy!!
The thing with yesterday was that the guy DID touch the nebulizer.
He put the whole thing together, touching all the little
parts. I had to sterilize everything before she could use it
the first time -- and it came sterilized in the bag before he put
his grubby hands on it!!

Hey! I use the pari for tobi and the side stream for his pulmo. and
a neb with a mask(he still uses the dinosaur one!) for his
albuterol. I labeled the hoses for al. and tobi with the first
letters on the bottom rubbery part. Our pulmonologist suggested I
use different tubes as the med/condensation can run back down into
the tube sometimes so when you use it again it will be pushing that
back through whatever you're doing next. Funny how she told me that
but never anything about the compressors. I have just seen people
mention different comp. and psi put out and I wondered if I should
be doing something different. I read that tobi should only take 15
minutes(on the pari link). It takes my son about 25 minutes for
tobi and about 8 minutes for pulmo. and about 15 for the albuterol.
Is this okay? Anything to help him finish faster so he can
get back outside!!!
Thanks-Blopunky's mom

We also use the Pari for Tobi and the Side Stream for Pulmozyme. We recently got a new compressor, and I just remember it's made by Pari but don't remember the specifics, and it is quicker than the older one we have. Tobi does get done in about 15 minutes and Pulmozyme in about 5 minutes or so.

thanks-he has to go in to get his flu shot soon and I'll ask his pulmonologist about which one(pari) for tobi.

I understand your "dose of reality" feeling! We felt the exact same way when our son was put on daily Pulmozyme. You just have to convince yourself of the health benefits - they are real!

I have no real comment on the cleaning, but I do have a comment on Albuterol....that drug made our son hyper. Our docs changed Albuterol up for Zopanex (I think I am spelling that wrong, but that is what it sounds like) and it made a huge difference. Just something to look out for ;-)
