Nebulizer cleaning question

That's awful, Jane!!  I would not have been happy!!<br>

The thing with yesterday was that the guy DID touch the nebulizer.
 He put the whole thing together, touching all the little
parts.  I had to sterilize everything before she could use it
the first time -- and it came sterilized in the bag before he put
his grubby hands on it!!  <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif" border="0">

Hey! I use the pari for tobi and the side stream for his pulmo. and
a neb with a mask(he still uses the dinosaur one!) for his
albuterol. I labeled the hoses for al. and tobi with the first
letters on the bottom rubbery part. Our pulmonologist suggested I
use different tubes as the med/condensation can run back down into
the tube sometimes so when you use it again it will be pushing that
back through whatever you're doing next. Funny how she told me that
but never anything about the compressors. I have just seen people
mention different comp. and psi put out and I wondered if I should
be doing something different. I read that tobi should only take 15
minutes(on the pari link). It takes my son about 25 minutes for
tobi and about 8 minutes for pulmo. and about 15 for the albuterol.
Is this okay?  Anything to help him finish faster so he can
get back outside!!!<br>

I understand your "dose of reality" feeling! We felt the exact same way when our son was put on daily Pulmozyme. You just have to convince yourself of the health benefits - they are real!

I have no real comment on the cleaning, but I do have a comment on Albuterol....that drug made our son hyper. Our docs changed Albuterol up for Zopanex (I think I am spelling that wrong, but that is what it sounds like) and it made a huge difference. Just something to look out for ;-)
