Need help, question about Kaylee and TOBI

DS has always been on albuterol/atrovent to open up the airways while doing cpt or the vest, then do tobi. He's been doing tobi since he was 3 months old. The bronchiodialators since he was less than a week old.

my office never recommends a bronchodialator before treatments they leave them as an 'as needed' item (unless someone obviously needs them then of course they would vary). Just this year I started always doing mine before my morning treatment. I have found that always taking a zopenex before hand helps tremendously. Why NOT? get lungs opened up before treatments as much as possible? Wouldnt she have to do the vest before TOBI anyway? Why not do treatmetn with vest then TOBI? If I dont have time for extra treatment I do a few puffs of my inhaler at least, maybe that would be a good compromise?

WHen Emily was on TOBI, we nebbed albuterol, did manual pt (no vest, yet, then) then did TOBI. Yes, it was at least an hour each time we did pt. Now, we do albuterol mdi before doing t he vest/hypertonic saline/pulmozyme. I think it's a good ideas to get the airways as open as possible before doing TOBI, but ask if she can use an inahler rather t han neb it. IT would save a lot of time!
