To be honest, I don't really read the posts on oils because honestly, not to be disrespectful in any way, I am not interested in it . I take way to many medicines for way to many different diseases so I wouldn't do it.MY CHOICE.... So that is your answer...I am especially bored today so I read this post, and had a question about it. WHICH LAST TIME I CHECKED, I AM ABLE TO ASK QUESTIONS...

I still stand by what I feel about not taking herbs unless your doctor knows about it.. and I don't think I was even addressing you in this post.. so relax.. not your job to cure me or the world of anything... Just asking a question.

Cool np. I took your response that you have read what I have said on the topic, and still came away with that. That was the only point I was wondering about. If that doesn't apply, I don't feel so much like a hamster running in a wheel for no reason

They gave the mice Candida albicans, which is a yeast -- a type of fungus rather than a bacterium. This could be of some interest anyway, since cystics often culture Candida, but it doesn't lead to any conclusions about dosing against pseudo.

This is what I was talking about...

Jennifer...i totally accept your view on the oils and such...but wouldn't you be interested in maybe at least reading into something that could possibly benefit you? I mean...ya you take a lot of meds. However, taking the oils is like taking a vitamin...you don't have to inhale it.

Don't get me wrong...people do what they want...but is your health not worth the maybe 30 mins it could take to read some of the research?

My opinion is still out on the oil thing. Tho SeanDavis had fabulous results with his lung function & some others seem to have positive results, we all have agreed to agree that its not for everyone. Sean has stated that. I personally am intrigued, but very leary about changing what is currently working for me to something that might set me back. Yes...I know on the other hand it might push me forward, but at this point I am not willing to risk that. I also know from people that have used other forms of herbal/altnerative meds that the "long term" affects change. Whether it be that the results diminish or eventually another type of problem arises. So I will be honest & admit that I would rather have someone do the research & experimenting & then after a year if things still see positive....then I would revisit the idea. Jenn.....I completely understand your concern. You have had a hard time as have I & seeing other problems first hand for you, I would imagine you are even more leary. That doesnt make it wrong. Just as some people dont want to use the Pulmozyme, Antibiotics etc. Not everyone wants to use oils etc. That is what this board is about. Sharing your info, experiences & knowledge. Not to push, undermine or criticize someone elses choice!

This whole discussion is fascinating and I really appreciate the information: BOTH fact and opinion. That's why I'm here, to learn as much as possible so I can be a better mom and advocate for my kids.

My kids' doctor is really conservative about these kinds of alternative things. In fact, most of the time she hasn't even heard anything about them before we ask her. This forum is usually the place where we get the scoop on new stuff.
THANKS!

Just to clarify.. I never said it was wrong. I said I would never do it because I take to many medicines and because of what I have seen at work. I never said wrong.. If I didn't think herbs worked, what would I care if I took them?? They can be very powerful...The only thing I said is if you take them, run it by your doctor... and that is how I still feel for ME.. and as a soon to be nurse..Any patient that I have that is taking medications of any kind , will be told to run it by their doctor of pharmacist.. I am not going to tell them not to take it though. That includes over the counter meds, herbs, etc . I actually believe it or not, do believe some herbs work.. just like Sean said you have to be careful taking them because it does alter your body and I think you should know how it does..I really am not saying anything more different then Sean said about being careful taking them...

I am interested in the results people are getting with OO, but feel at this time DS is too young to try it. Your studies look promising and hopefully someone will get on the ball and do a study on it and maybe OO can become part of a regular standarized treatment regimine.

Hi SeanDavis,

Is the Oreganol P73 regular strength by American Herb & Spice water soluble? It doesn't say if it is on the bottle and I'm wonder is it possible to neb this one. It's the same one as the one in the third link that you posted.

Thanks
