Hi all,
I'm living in Ontario, so it may be a long shot asking this since I know many of you are American, but any info would help. I was just offered a new job in the science field as a chemist. The company is unaware of my CF. I just got a call that they want to schedule me in for a physical which is required by the health insurance company because full health benefits are offered with the job. I'm a bit freaked out! I know it's illegal to discriminate against those with physical illnesses, but still... Do I have to tell them about the CF? Do they have access to my medical records and will find out anyways? My current company doesn't know (I've been here for 2 years). I blame my coughing on asthma and I haven't taken a sick day since I've been here. I'm just worried that if I lie and they find out, they could reneg on the offer or I could be fired. If I tell the truth, they could reneg on the offer. What do I do?
