I used to wait for my body to kick the cold itself but the past 6 months I haven't done that because well I just can't anymore. I need a little help. With age comes less resilience to these things <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> I would call again and see if they can give you something stronger to help fight it off. If that doesn't work, you may need to go in and get the big guns.

As for the night sweats, I sometimes wake up drenched too! I don't normally run fevers though, but I get hot so much! I keep my house at 60 during the winter (I live outside of Philadelphia) because otherwise I just sweat my tush off. My bedroom is even colder, at 55, because if it gets any hotter its stiffling to me. I would have to say the nights sweats are your body trying to fight this off. Especially if you switch to a lighter blanket and still sweat badly. One thing that works for me which I think is SO weird is I make sure I have long pants on. I can sleep in a tank top but I sweat a whole lot less if my bare legs don't tough each other. It is very weird but once I caught on and started wearing pants to bed instead of shorts I stopped waking up drenched as much. I still do sometimes but not nearly as often as before.

Sorry I couldn't help more but I hope it helped a little

Let the sweats continue and do not take fever reducer.. Fevers help to kill and thin out infection. In regard to the pain from coughing, get to an emergency room and tell them how bad it is. They will hook you up to an IV with some pan killer. The pain may be due to pluresy or other things.. The pain medicine will also help you to sleep,,,, You are probably in great need of that now. Take care.

Hello.... Quick update...

I am still have the intense sweat issues at night and in the morning.... I changed clothes at least twice a night and move to a dry part of the bed! No idea what is going on... I haven't been running a fever for 3 days! I haven't even been taking tylenol.

I am feeling quite a bit better and now just have an extremely productive cough. But, I've got more energy and am taking more treatments, etc. so I THINK may be on the mend. (knock wood)

Still no idea what is going on with these night sweats though cause I just don't FEEL like a fever is breaking or like my blood sugars are low/high. I checked them one morning immeidately upon waking in a pool of wet and they were 89. Hmmmmm......
