I've had it for as long as i can remember....my doctor seems concerned but not that concerned. my FEV 1 has remained stable at 114%. any input on psudomonas and its implications?

It causes damage over time. It's a pain in the butt, especially if you culture more than one (I have 3).

Given that you currently have PFTs of 114%... and <b>stable</b> PFTs at that, I wouldn't worry too much. There's not much to gain from worrying anyway. Almost every CFer will get pseudomonas at one point or another, and eventually it will become a problem. It's also impossible to avoid. But in short, like I said, your PFTs are fantastic, so I wouldn't stress myself out worrying. That'll be counterproductive. Haha.

With your pft's i wouldnt worry about it either. As long as you can maintain your health and your pft's , then you are a step ahead of the game which is where you want to be.

Watch your pft's like a hawk. If they start dropping take action. Other wise, don't sweat it. Don't let your pft's consistently drop without going on IV's. IV's can really stabilize you and knock the PA for a loop.
