We have an (old) Aprilaire system (was called something different then, but our replacement filters say Aprilaire now <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> ) and I really, really, like it! I hardly ever have to dust (once every month or two?) and I only have to change it once a year. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> This is with 4 cats, and a dog (and the previous dog was longhaired <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> ). Seeing that this house had one of those units installed was a bonus when we were considering it to buy <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> .
If you have a heat pump, you probably don't have to worry about dampness in you ducts(unless something odd happens, like with my MILs- but hers were some wierd composite/foam stuff, ours are metal)- ours, at least, pumps out some really, really dry air (too dry in the winter for my dry eye syndrome!)
