QUESTION, I don't understand why this isn't possible

ok so I'm confused on something and I just can't wait another month to ask.

We all pretty much know what our chest xrays look like by heart, right? Well I know that my upper right and lower left lobes ALWAYS are white and fuzzy on xrays. They have been ever since I was little.

Well I was curious - why can't doctors take something and go into those little airways and suck all the stuff out? Wouldn't that increase blood flow to the air and make it "better" again??? Or like clean it out and then inject a solution of antibiotics into the air to help it fight RIGHT at the site???

I asked this question years ago to the Dr. What he told me was that it would not make a difference to go in and suck all that stuff out because as soon as they did it would just happen again. Who knows that was years ago. It seems like a good idea right?

I don't see why it wouldn't help. I mean it does take a least a few hours to make more mucus. In that time you would be on IV antibiotics so anything that comes back would be up against the antibiotics b/c they would actually be able to get to it, right? And wouldn't you be sucking out mucus you KNOW has infect vs new mucus that has yet to get infected??

I brought this up once too, and they told me to do an invasive surgery like that you'd be putting a lot at risk -- infection from the foreign object, needing to go under anesthesia, accidently puncturing or nicking your lungs... so they don't it, also because it would just come back anyways.
