Random question for those who have had a transplant

For those who have had a transplant, did your finger clubbing go away afterwards? or even reduce?
The reason i ask is because i am still confused as to what exactly causes clubbing. I always hear it is oxygen not reaching the extremeties correctly, but have a hard time with that since i never had lung issues till i was somewhere in my 20's yet had clubbing when i was little already. Even with the minor lung issues i had when i was in my 20's i still had 100% sats and pft's, so it just makes me curious with that issue out of the way.... Does the clubbing subside?

geeeezzz...the random thoughts that go thru my mind while on a long drive

They're not really sure what causes clubbing though the lack of oxygen is the main theory (or so I hear).

I never had clubbing, I mean not the huge 'alien toes/fingers' that I see on some people. My doctors did comment that my nails curved a little bit (one finger more than the rest of my hand when the nail gets really long), but no real obvious clubbing. My fingers have always had a rounded appearance but that's more genetic (hah) than anything else since they look exactly like my father's do (No he doesn't have CF and as far as I know he's never been symptomatic). After tx they did comment that the clubbing wasn't as noticable as before transplant but my nails/fingers haven't changed at all so maybe she was talking about the cuticle/general healthier look. Anyway before tx there was a point where I was on oxygen for a few months.. and my fingers and toes didn't change. I have heard that some post-tx people do notice that clubbing goes down/away after tx but I'm not one of them.

Also I wasn't diagnosed until I was 6 so I was pretty healthy up to that point, maybe that has something to do with it but who knows. Maybe has something to do with in utero development and oxygenation at that point? It'll be interesting when they do find the answers to it.

I just had my transplant in July of 07 and my clubbing wasnt THAT bad, not like some of the pictures you see. It did however improve, I could definitely tell that my nails started to look a little more normal. It could of course be my imagination but other people have said they look better too. So i think it does help improve you nails a little bit.
