Hey All,
Got back from Duke evaluation a week ago. Things went very well and I LOVED the team there. I'm slowly updating a blow by blow daily synopsis of the events on by blog.
While there I found out I have reflux and esophageal motility issues. So we are working on a plan to deal with those. Here's the gameplan:
1) Have an endoscopy done to see extent of esophageal damage.
2) Start on 60mg/day of Prevacid and also a 3x day dose of Reglan
3) See them back in 3 months
I also have to stop alcohol (only was drinking 2 glasses of wine a day anyway so isn't too bad). In addition I'm going to make some dietary changes to help deal.
So, have any of you ever been on Reglan and how were the side effects for you? Also, did it end up helping you?
Also, I need suggestions of foods to eat. I'm so used to eating whatever I want to maintain weight. Generally we don't eat a lot of prepared foods but do have homemade meals that can be fatty (e.g. homemade chicken piccatta). I've done low fat diets before due to various issues but have never ALSO done low acid at the same time. I'm so used to having OJ in the AM, and love citrus & vinegar. Really need some help on how to keep fat but also have a reflux friendly diet.
Thanks a bunch!
Steph
