hello

I currently have the hillrom. I woudl like to get the respiratech (especially after your response Lightnlife!LOL<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> ) but my CF clinic said that respiratech made them do all the paperwork and pursuing insurance whereas hillrom will do it all for them so she is not willing to try respiratech again as they did it before and it didnt work. I was wonderfing what your experience was when trying to get the respiratech. Perhaps things have changed at the company now. I plan to pursue this at my appt in June. I know my insurance will cover it as I have excellent insurance it is just all teh hoops and paperwork.

</end quote>

that's very suprising. I got mine in Sept 2006 and Repirtech did all the paperwork for me.

Definiately give it another shot. It sounds like it was a fluke experience!

OK I have another thought about this. Given the high price of it and many of our insurance companies have a lifetime max for us with benefits....who feels it is worth the change if the insurance will cover a new vest? </end quote></div>

It's a valid point. But for me and it looks like several others here, it's worth it.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote> I have excellent insurance and really had no desire to change vests as I think the original version of the hillrom works great. Then I got thinking that I dont have anything (except for CPT) to compare it to so maybe I am really missing out here. </end quote></div>

Well if you've never tried it, then your next best thing is to go by clinical evidence.

Clinical evidence is here: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.respirtech.com/download.htm
">http://www.respirtech.com/download.htm
</a>

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote> since the newer vests are programmed, does that mean that you have to turn the machine off if you need to stop in the middle of a "round". I like having the pedal to control my hillrom so if I need to stop for some reason I just take the weight off the pedal? I wouldnt imagine its extremely difficult with the newer versions, ....this is something that came to mind. So any feedback?</end quote></div>

No I just hit the pause button.... not difficult at all!

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote> but being I hate change </end quote></div>

Makes sense. I totaly understand. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
