I alway give Maggie enzymes with milk...She drinks whole milk, our chocholate milk is Ovaltime with whole milk and I would give her 2-3 enzymes with it..If I didn't she'ld either throw up or have a tummy ache. She is severely pancreatic insufficient though. But for swiss miss with water maybe one enzyme, like Liza said? I'm always looking for more calories so I'ld mix it with whole milk.

When I was living in the States, I would only take enzymes for main meals. Though there were some times where I probably SHOULD have taken enzymes with certain snacks, I didn't...however, the snacks were either portions that would fill two people up, or were much higer in fats than I could tolerate.

Since I've been in Japan, I rarely take any enzymes (mostly because it was never available)

Having to take so many enzymes for one meal, I would say I was more pancreatic sufficient, as well.

Paula,

Our nutritionist explained it to us like this: if it has FAT....take enzymes. Now.... doesn't Austin have a little concerns with gaining enough weight?? If so...then I would make those with whole milk & half/half. Why miss out on a potential fat/caloric addition?? Our philosophy is to never miss out on an opportunity to add fat/calories to Zoe's diet.

Hope all is well at your place...praying for a quick recovery for Austin's sinus infection!!<img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

Last year DS did ask me to buy him some hot chocolate, so I made sure I got the one with the highest caloric content and figured if he liked it, I WOULD use whole milk and/or cream. It's still sitting on the counter, think he tried one sip.

I also give him enzymes with milk. Depends upon the fat content as to how many he gets. I buy whole, but sometimes when we're out and about, we can only get 1%.
