If you're on some meds such as Flovent, ProAir/Albuterol, etc. that are known to make you jittery wiry, try taking them (or if you're like me, and do them WITH your therapy, then try moving your whole therapy treatment) earlier.
I've gotten to where I do therapy and all those meds BEFORE dinner usually, then I have a glass of red wine before bed every night (it helps me sleep soundly and is very good for antioxidants etc.) and by that time the meds have worked their thing and my body can relax.
Also simple things like reading instead of TV before bed, etc.

I always try to find a natural way before I turn to more meds (us CFers are on SO MANY already). But I don't have a baby... so maybe none of this relates in any way.

Are you intaking any caffeine during the day? Try cutting it out then ease back on but not after 12 noon. It can take a long time to get out of the system. Add that to not sleeping as deeply subconsciously keeping one ear out for the little one and you've got a recipe for a bad night's sleep.

Also, don't forget you have a little one and you have cf. We, more than a lot of other mother's, need to sleep when the baby sleeps.

I nap for 2 hrs every day and sleep just fine through the night. Once I start getting over tired (ie. skipping naps) my night sleep is more restless.

Finally, maybe try sleeping when your body says sleep. Are you napping? Make yourself let everything else (other than babies safety) be a second priority. If your LO isn't napping implement a "quiet time" for 1-2 hrs in her crib/room (forgot the age) where she takes care of herself. If you are not comfortable doing this, hire a schoolkid to come over after school to give you a break.

Quiet play is very beneficial and similar brain development reprogramming happens as when sleep occurs. Also, I once heard you get 80% of the value of sleep by just laying still and resting with your eyes closed. Now stressing about why you aren't falling asleep doesn't count. Good luck!

I take Benadryl, which knocks me out, but I usually only take it when I have post nasal drip and cough all night. I would agree that you should try to sleep when lo is sleeping and also do meds earlier. They get my heart rate racing and I toss and turn to if I wait too late to do them.
