I have had a hard time sleeping for the past few months! I am on the lovely prednisone and have been for months. I take it early in the morning but it still affects my sleeping at night. I wish I had some advice for you. 36yr old cf

I had trouble sleeping and even had a sleep test done. They said it was just stress and anxiety but nothing was given to me to help. Almost 2 years later I went to my cf dr and she prescribed me ambien. I used it for about a 2 weeks every night. I dont use it anymore and it has been over 3 months. I sleep like a rock and fall asleep within 5 minutes. I dont know that it would work for everyone, obviously, but maybe it could help you.
Happy sleeping!

I have trouble getting to sleep and then staying asleep. I have a tendency to sleep for an hour or two then wake for about an hour, then repeat the cycle. I origianally used benadryl but my cf docs said that it was not a good idea. I tried ambien but it didnt work, but I am now taking lunesta 2mg and sleep pretty well on it. I have found that my sleeping pattern has gotten much worse since my last exacerbation when I got worked up and then put on the transplant list, so I can def. say that stress is a big part of not sleeping well. I would ask your doc about trying ambien or lunesta, atleast until you can get into a good sleep pattern.
