it depends on what kind of health phase i am in generally. sometimes it doesn't matter, sometimes it does. when i am able to exercise most days for a long period of time, i can usually skip without too much repercussion. as i've gotten older, it definitly seems like i can't get away with as much skipping, though. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
i think back to dr. warwick's comparison in the new yorker article of the odds of getting sick doing vs. not doing your treatments every day. along those same lines, i think of it like sleep: you can "catch up" on sleep when you've gone with not enough, but you can never really get all that sleep back.
