I had come across this, just the other day--in some old papers I had printed out a while ago when this first came out. I remember wondering how many of you were using this, and what effects you had noticed. I am very interested in it, but of course, we don't know the dosage for a child...

I am also interested for myself, as I have been starting to have joint pain, which is probably a combo of my age and my job! How did you arrive at the dosage?</end quote></div>

As far as doseage goes, I sniffed around the net a bit looking for high doses levels that weren't known to include bad side effects. It seems 3 grams per day is considered the starting level of a therapeutic dose from several sources, and anything past that up to around 10 grams per day could result in stomache problems. The dose on my bottle was around 1160 mg a day, so I just basically trippled the dose (6 capsules). CF will kill me way before sensible self medicating with research will so I went with it.

Of course I still have CF, and my sinuses still generally suck, but after 2-3 weeks on this at this level, my lungs do feel better/less inflamed, and my joints don't feel as stiff as they have in the past.

Theres a parent on the CFtrust forum in the UK who is a general practioner and she gives her son ( maybe sons) turemic capsules. She recently done a dissertation and a large portion of that was about the supplement.

I'll see if I can dig a link up, she did say that if anyone was wanting to see it, then to e-mail her and she would provide a copy.

Craig

She is a medical herbalist, not a general practioner

here is a link, she says that she would send a copy ( user name emma s)

Hey Faust
When it first came out, i was in contact with a father of a cfer that gave it to his daughter, and she found terrific results with around your dosage (at 3 grams a day). Reduced enzymes, less acerbations etc. I'm taken it for quite a while now, at around 1-3 grams per day and too be honest, i take so much stuff i don't really know if it makes a difference or not. I do remember though that when i first began taking supps, i was on GSH and Curcumin only, and i did feel like it did something (more energy, better digestion). Your post makes me think maybe i should give it a shot again.

I'm surprised you stopped all of your supps (most of them). I'm thinking myself of cutting back a bit, and only taking things that have some proven benefit with cf (NAC, GSH, Curcumin, EFA's, methionine and a good multivitamin. RIght now i am taking that plus you know, ala, red wine extract, glutamine etc. The thing is, when you take so much stuff, you don't wanna take huge doses of them all (because of kidney concerns) and so maybe the small doses of multiple supps isn't as effective as if you took large doses of ones that could be helpful. It's annoying though, because all that other stuff has proven benefits for other non cf related stuff (anti-aging, anti inflammatory, anti cancer etc).

However, i have heard of individuals that take up to 200 pills a day, so how bad can say 20 be? Anyways, i guess my main thing is that it's easy to get carried away, and it's hard to tell what really helps and what doesn't.

Anyways, i'm rambling.
Take it easy

This is odd, I just ran into a woman today in a Wendy's restroom. She was complaining that her hands were stained and could not get them clean. That sounds gross<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">, it was from cooking she had done that day. She had been cooking all day with Tameric. A spice I had never heard of. She then proceeded to tell me how her doc had prescibed it for her for cholesterol and other stomach issues. She thought it was fabulous. Then I come to the forum and find this thread. I think I'm suppose to try this stuff! How do you buy it? Is it something you can just buy at the grocery store?
