Ugh-stopping the Biaxin

I am feeling terrible on it-sooooo nauseous and nothing works. Ugh. I am going to call the doctor on call tomorrow to make sure it is ok to stop it. My lungs feel 100% - so I am hoping it is ok. Otherwise I am not sure what else to do. I am up and it is after 1am and I can't sleep because I feel so terrible from this med.

My CF dr said that if the Biaxin didn't work-I will start on inhaled Tobi to treat my staph. I have only cultured PA twice (last time was 3 years ago) but he says it is a good drug to treat lung infections with staph. Any input on this?

For those that are on Tobi-are there any bad side effects to it??

I have been on Tobi for years and the only side effect I can remember having at first was the altering of my voice. It makes it sound hoarse.

I'm sorry you are have insomnia due to Biaxin. Biaxin actually doesn't work for me, my doctor has me on Cipro 750mg twice day for PA. I'm not sure about Staph tho, but I can related to not sleeping. Cipro has been keeping me up for many nights<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
