Update on Melleemac's twins--Editted

Just wanted to let everyone know that I talked to Melody a little bit ago...I called up to Canada. Her boys are holding up pretty good, but bored to bits--nothing to do on the weekend--and it's a holiday up there--Canada Day--so they are not happy to be spending it in the hospital! They are having a problem with IV's, Michael finally got a mid-line, but Brandon is having problems and they don't have anyone to do it (mid-line)--being there is the holiday! (Hope I got it right, I was so excited to be talking to her that I didn't take notes!) Their pfts are 50 and 53.

Jeez, they have a hard time keeping IV's--wish they would have allowed for this and put in PICC's on Friday when they went in!!! Next friday is the boy's 13th birthday's, so Melody is hoping for a pass so they can go out of hospital to celebrate. Mel also said that every time they have go into the hospital, it usually ends up being 3 weeks, not just two. Darn it, they don't want to be coped up for the summer!!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> She hasn't been able to get to any computers because her's is broke down, and the rooms where the computers are, are closed up...because of the holiday!!

She is going to try to get on her friend's computer tonight. I must say it was exciting for me to talk to her--she sounds "scottish", so I loved hearing her speech!! She is tired but does get to go home at night for a little rest. Remember, she has a 17 yr old at home, and her 19 yr old stepson is visiting for the summer! Boys, boys, boys!! You know the saying "the mother of boys works from <i>son</i> up to <i>son</i> down!"

I want to encourage the sending of cards, and packages (if you wish) to the boys in the hospital. I want to re-post the address of the hospital. I also have her home address. Please keep her and the boys in your thoughts and prayers...

Thanks Terri. Poor kids, the hospital is the worst on the weekends or holidays. They must be bored to death.

We usually try to keep our boys busy by doing something just a little naughty (enough to keep them interested). Once we filled the window with graffiti made out of medical tape. Another time we made sculptures out of all the extra medical stuff (tubing, neb cups, tape etc) and connected them to the ceiling.

Its not easy, especially having two in.
