Son being tested for cf...
Your baby is beautiful! I understand your concern.
My babies now are 21, 20 & 17 and I have had them tested over the years several times for cf as genetic testing has improved greatly over the years. The last time was 1 1/2 years ago. Instead of having the three children tested at that point I had my husband tested to see if he carried any cf genes with the full panel Ambry (He is their father so if he does not carry any genes then he could not have passed any on). Thankfully his test came back totally negative for any cf genes. Those few weeks waiting for the results were anxious ones.
Over the years every little cough, sinus issue or tummy ache that the kids would have had me thinking in the back of my mind...could this be cf related? After this last full panel Ambry I feel pretty confident that they only carry the one cf gene that I have passed on to them so I no longer give it much thought. I am glad I had my husband rechecked with the Ambry...It is always better knowing.
