I had never ordered anything from foundation cares before, & had to order the HS a few weeks ago since CF pharm was out of it. No one ever said anything about me not being a regular customer.... It came in a few days. Secondly, they told me I did not need to keep it refrigerated. Now I am nervous. Which need to be refrigerated & which do not? The HS they sent are already a 7% in a vial I just squirt i the neb cup. Help!! Anyone know the answer?

The HS from Foundation Care prepared in individual sterile ampules (60 for a months supply) do not need to be refrigerated.

Hi Guys-
This made me very nervous about the sterility of HTS as well. I get it from a IV infusuin place in Dallas so I called them on Fridayto ask because I do not have to refrigerate mine....they are in individual syringes with little caps on them.

The head pharmacist tod me it is all a matter of mixing procedure. If it is mixed in a sterile room under vented hood, all people gowned gloved booted Etc, then the solution is guaranteed sterile for 3 months. In addition, this pharmacy has to test each batch by an independant quality testing firm to insure sterilty.

I also called IV Solutions in Lubbock, one of the eflow distributors and asked them this same question. They do not need to refrigerate their HTS for the exact same reason....sterile room, vented hood, booties, gown.....each batch they make is quality tested and and has a date of mix and expiration date...normally 3 moths from the mix date. Hope this helps.

I had the experience with IV solutions regarding my HTS. She told me that they make no money giving me HTS and that really it is just a service they are willing to provide....thanks for that...whatever. I pay them, remember? However, I recieved a veiled threat when she told me that since I do not get my HTS from them, she really did not know of the formulation of the HTS I get from another pharmacy and she really did not think I should use it because it might not be "safe." I lost it on her because she was sooooo transparent. She continued that since I did not use their "special formulation" I was most likely hurting my eflow and she could not guarantee that it would work.

I was furious and made her VERY AWARE that I would not be manipulated.

It was RIDICULOUS!!!!!
